Bruce Munro’s Light in the Garden, an installation at the Atlanta Botanical Garden

We went to preview the beautiful installation “Light in the Garden” by British artist Bruce Munro at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Munro is known for immersive large-scale light-based installations inspired largely by his interest in shared human experience.

Munro’s installation at the Atlanta Botanical Garden features six diverse installations throughout the gardens and inside the conservatories. These unique works of art are created from hundreds of miles of optic fiber and other materials, like recyclable plastic bottles.

The garden’s Canopy Walk provides a distinctive view of the show’s largest and most mesmerizing installation, Forest of Light, that features more than 30,000 flower-like stems of lights that can also be experienced from the ground level.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is Munro’s sixth solo U.S. exhibition and will be open from May 2 through October 3.
